The questions we get asked most. Have another one? Write to us.
Write to usWe always start from your business goals, not the trends of the moment. A channel is justified by the data, your target audience’s behavior and its measurable performance potential, not because everyone else is doing it.
Our process always begins with a simple question: what goal are we trying to reach?
From there, we analyze where your target audience is, how it behaves online and which channels have the best performance potential for your specific context.
Only once these foundations are set do we recommend tactics, whether that’s digital advertising, organic search, automations or a combination of the three.
We never recommend a channel because it’s trendy, but because your data shows it’s the right lever to reach your goals.
A campaign-management agency launches what you ask for. Our strategists question, analyze and recommend what will actually drive growth, even if it isn’t what you had in mind at the start.
Many agencies excel at execution: they launch campaigns, produce content, manage budgets.
At Ursa, our strategists go further. Before taking action, they take the time to understand your business goals, analyze your market and challenge your assumptions.
We may advise against a tactic you wanted to put in place, because the data shows that another approach will perform better.
This transparent advisory role, rooted in business intelligence, is what sets a strategic partner apart from a simple vendor.
It depends. Developing a digital strategy generally takes between 2 and 4 weeks depending on your company’s complexity and the state of your existing data. At Ursa, this setup phase always precedes the start of activities, because a rushed strategy costs more than a well-built one.
The timeline varies depending on your starting point, your company’s complexity and our internal capacity at the time of your request.
The setup phase includes an audit of your current digital presence, an analysis of your market and competitors, an SEO baseline and the design of a custom strategic plan.
At Ursa, this process ends with a kick-off meeting where we present the plan before launching activities. As a rule, expect at least 2 to 4 weeks.
This isn’t a timeline to compress: it’s the foundation on which every decision of the mandate will rest. A strategy built in a hurry produces misaligned tactics and wasted budgets.
An effective strategy generates measurable results aligned with your business goals. If your key performance indicators (KPIs) aren’t clearly defined from the outset, or aren’t tied to your business goals, it becomes impossible to know whether your strategy is really working.
It all starts with defining KPIs directly tied to your business goals. Not surface metrics like clicks or impressions, but concrete indicators such as cost per acquisition, conversion rate or return on investment.
Without clear performance measurement from the start, it’s impossible to objectively assess whether your strategy is performing.
If your channels operate in silos with no consistency between them, if you increase budgets without a proportional improvement in results, or if your agency hands you reports you don’t understand, these are clear signals that a strategic audit is needed.
At Ursa, we always start by defining your KPIs with you before recommending a single tactic, because a strategy without measurement is just good intentions.
The digital strategy is the big picture: it defines your goals, your audiences, your priority channels and your positioning. The media plan is a deliverable that flows from it: it specifies where, when and how much to invest in advertising to reach your targets. One without the other is either a vision without execution, or execution without direction.
The digital strategy is the overall framework that guides all your online actions. It answers the fundamental questions: what are your business goals, who are your audiences, which channels to prioritize, what message to carry and how to measure success. It’s your roadmap.
The media plan is a more operational document that flows from this strategy. It details how your advertising budget is split across platforms, the flighting periods, the ad formats and the performance targets.
In short: the digital strategy says why and what, the media plan says where and how much.
A digital strategy should be formally reviewed at least once a year, and adjusted continuously based on results and changes in your market. Digital moves too fast for a strategy to stay frozen for 12 months without being questioned.
There’s no universal answer, but there is a basic rule: a digital strategy should never be treated as a static document.
At Ursa, we distinguish two levels of review. First, continuous adjustments: each month, we analyze performance data to reallocate budgets, test new approaches and optimize what’s underway.
Second, formal strategic reviews: at least once a year, or during major events such as the launch of a new product or service, a website migration or a market shift.
Strategic monitoring is part of our mandate. We watch your market, your competitors and the trends to flag when an adjustment is needed, before the impact shows up in your results.
